NGK Laser Iridium, built for turbo petrol. The plug NGK specifies for the Hyundai and Kia 1.0 and 1.4 T-GDi engines.

Turbocharged direct injection runs higher cylinder pressures than a naturally aspirated engine, which asks more of the plug. The heat range 9 here is deliberately cold to suit that, and the fine-wire iridium centre electrode holds a precise gap under load. The result is consistent ignition, easy cold starts and clean throttle response.

This is the turbo petrol plug. If you run the 1.2 Kappa naturally aspirated engine, you want the LKR7BIX-P instead.

Fitting

Arrives pre-gapped. Thread in by hand first, then torque to your manual's figure. Turbo engines are less forgiving of an under-tightened plug, so use a torque wrench.
