Description

NGK Iridium IX, centre plug. A fine-wire iridium centre electrode in place of a conventional one, firing a sharper, more focused spark.

On a multi-spark head the centre plug does the heavy lifting. Iridium gives easier cold starts, a steadier idle and cleaner combustion, and holds its gap far longer than a nickel plug.

Karizma XMR owners, this is the iridium upgrade for your bike. The XMR leaves the factory with a Bosch VR5NEU (Hero part 31918ACA001S). That is the same plug as the NGK LKAR8A-9, and this LKAR8AI-9 is its iridium version: same 12mm thread, same 26.5mm reach, same heat range, same 0.9mm gap. It threads straight in with nothing to change.

Not the older Karizma. The air-cooled 223cc Karizma and Karizma ZMR take the DPR8EIX-9, a completely different plug, also on our site.

Doing a Bajaj triple-spark service? You need this centre plug plus two CPR8EAIX-9 side plugs. We sell the Dominar 400 set complete.

01 Does the NGK LKAR8AI-9 fit my bike?

Yes, OEM-spec centre-plug fit for KTM Duke/RC/Adventure 125-390, Bajaj Dominar 250/400, Pulsar NS200/RS200/AS200 and NS400Z (BS4 and BS6), and the Hero Karizma XMR 210.

02 Will it fit the Hero Karizma XMR 210?

Yes, direct fit. The XMR comes with a Bosch VR5NEU (Hero part 31918ACA001S), which is the same plug as the NGK LKAR8A-9. This is the iridium version of it: same 12mm thread, same 26.5mm reach, same heat range and the same 0.9mm gap.

03 I have the older Karizma or Karizma ZMR. Is this right?

No. The older air-cooled 223cc Karizma and ZMR take the DPR8EIX-9, which we also stock. This plug is for the liquid-cooled Karizma XMR 210 from 2023.

04 Is this the centre or side plug?

This is the centre plug. On triple-spark Bajaj engines you will also need the side plugs to complete a set. Single-cylinder bikes like the Karizma XMR take just this one.

05 Is this a genuine NGK Iridium plug?

Yes, genuine NGK Iridium IX.

06 What is the benefit of fitting it?

The iridium fine-wire electrode gives a stronger spark for easier starts and smoother throttle response, and it holds its gap far longer than a nickel plug.

07 How do I install it and how long does it last?

It is a pre-gapped, direct-fit swap with a long iridium service life. Thread it in by hand first, then torque to your manual's figure.

08 How fast is delivery and what if it arrives damaged?
