NGK Iridium IX. A 0.6mm fine-wire iridium centre electrode in place of a conventional one, firing a sharper, more focused spark.

In everyday riding that means easier cold starts, a steadier idle and cleaner combustion, and because iridium barely erodes the gap holds far longer than a nickel plug.

Pre-gapped at 0.9mm. Nothing to adjust.

How many you need: the Avenger 220 is twin spark and takes 2, one each side. The Pulsar 125 BS6 and the Jupiter 110 take 1. Not sure about yours? Count the plug caps on the cylinder head.

On Bajaj triple-spark bikes this is the side plug. The centre position takes the LKAR8AI-9, also on our site.

Riding an Xtreme? Check the engine size first

Hero have used the Xtreme name across several different engines. This plug is the bigger ones only.

Xtreme 125R · this is not your plug. It is a 125, and heat range 8 here runs two steps colder than Hero's 125cc engines are built for. A plug that cold on a 125 used in traffic will carbon up, which shows as a rough idle and hard starting. NGK have not listed the Xtreme 125R on their chart yet, so rather than guess, send us a photo of the number printed on your current plug and we will match it exactly.

Hero's other 125s, the Glamour, Super Splendor and Ignitor, take the CPR6EAIX-9S or the CPR7EAIX-9 depending on model. Both are on our site.

Common Questions 6

01 Does the NGK CPR8EAIX-9 fit my Pulsar?

Yes, the Pulsar 125 BS6, 150, 180, 200, 220 and 220F, plus the NS200, RS200 and AS200 side positions.

02 Does it fit my Xpulse or Xtreme?

The Xpulse 200 and 200T, yes. On the Xtreme it covers the 160R, 200R and 200S, plus the CBZ Xtreme and Xtreme Sport, along with the Hunk, Impulse and Achiever 150. It does not cover the Xtreme 125R.

03 I have the Hero Xtreme 125R. Is this the right plug?

No. This is heat range 8, which suits 150cc and up. The Xtreme 125R is a 125, and Hero's 125cc engines run heat range 6 or 7, so this plug would be two steps colder than the engine is built for and would foul in traffic. NGK have not listed the Xtreme 125R yet, so send us a photo of the number on your current plug and we will match it rather than guess.

04 Is this the side plug or the centre plug?

On Bajaj triple-spark bikes this is the side plug. The centre position takes the LKAR8AI-9, also on our site.

05 How many do I need?

One on single-plug bikes. Bajaj triple-spark engines take two of these plus one centre plug, and we sell the Dominar 400 set complete.

06 Is it pre-gapped?

Yes, factory set at 0.9mm. Fit as supplied.
