Shell Construction & Safety Standards
The SMK Retro Seven GL130 uses an Energy Impact Resistant Thermoplastic (EIRT) shell, developed to manage impact forces while maintaining structural integrity. Inside the shell, multi-density EPS liners are used to assist with energy absorption across different impact zones.
The helmet meets ECE 22.06 certification, which represents the latest European safety standard for motorcycle helmets. This standard includes more stringent testing protocols compared to earlier ECE versions. In addition, the helmet is DOT certified, ensuring compliance with widely recognised road safety regulations.
These certifications confirm suitability for public road use but do not imply professional racing approval.
Comfort, Fit & Interior Design
Comfort is addressed through a breathable, hypoallergenic interior liner designed to manage moisture during extended rides. The liner material is intended to remain comfortable across varying temperatures and riding conditions.
All interior padding is removable and washable, allowing riders to maintain hygiene over time. The helmet also includes a padded chin strap and neck roll, contributing to improved comfort and reduced pressure during longer riding sessions.
With two shell sizes, the helmet maintains better proportional balance across the size range, avoiding oversized shells on smaller head sizes and supporting a more consistent fit.
Ventilation System

Visor & Visibility
The visor supplied with the SMK Retro Seven GL130 is scratch-resistant and designed to offer wide peripheral vision. It is Pinlock® 70 ready, allowing riders to add an anti-fog insert if required (Pinlock insert not included).
For riders building classic or scrambler-style motorcycles, the helmet also supports goggle strap use, maintaining visual compatibility with retro riding gear.
